Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy-Review
Hey guys! I know it's been a while since I posted anything but I have finally finished a book that I think I could do a really good review on. I just finished Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy after rereading The Mortal Instruments.

Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy is a collection of originally separately published e-books by Cassandra Clare, Maureen Johnson, Sarah Rees Brennan, and Robin Wassermann now in print with a total of 10 stories, mostly set in Simon's POV.
Each of these "tales" were amazing in their own right aside from being amazing all together. They follow Simon Lewis, now mundane after the events of City of Heavenly Fire and losing his memories of the Shadow World to Magnus' father. He decides to go the newly reopened Shadowhunter Academy to escape the desperate looks on Clary's and Isabelle's faces when they look at him and see the friend they lost. The tales show Simon's initial meeting of his now best friend George to finding out the infamous Herondales had once been the laughing stock of the Academy to eventually being faced with the reality of becoming a Shadowhunter on his day of Ascension.
As an overall, I really enjoyed this book. In The Mortal Instruments books we didn't really get much of Simon's POV but now this is all about him and finding his place in this world that he is supposed to know about, but doesn't. Of course, this wouldn't be a Shadowhunter Chronicle if we didn't have special guests such as Clary, Jace, Izzy, Alec, and of course, the infamous Magnus Bane. I absolutely love how these amazing characters were intertwined in these basically coming of age stories centered around Simon Lewis, our fav mundie/vamp/Daylighter.
Of course there are also new characters such as George Lovelace and Jon Cartwright. They start out as, and I wouldn't say enemies per say, but they did start out in two different places at the Academy: Jon in the Elites, Shadowhunter born, and George in the Dregs, started in Shadowhunter but moved to the Mundane part of the Academy after Simon did. Simon was considered part of the Shadowhunters for being one of the people that saved the world for a second time but eventually realized that he couldn't make it with the other Shadowhunter born students so he moved to be with the mundanes, or dregs. I really appreciate Simon fro deciding on his own that he wasn't yet meant to be a Shadowhunter after losing everything he had learned about them and the Shadow World. He took it upon himself to learn and to stand up for the Downworlders even when the Shadowhunters wouldn't.
I just think this entire book shows just how much it takes for Simon to become this even better person than he was before he lost his memories and what he had to go through to get back the love of his life and his best friend, and in my opinion, he did have a few rough spots, but all in all, I think he did the best thing Simon Lewis could ever think of doing, and that was becoming a Shadowhunter.
